Narsingh Mehta sings very nicely that we are just like that dog in between the bullocks. And he thinks that, 'I’m driving the cart.' We are not the cause at all, we’re not doing. It’s happening, that’s it. And that is the always clear vision that Krishna is doing. And you are at ease. Krishna is doing, what can we do? Good or bad He’s doing. Finish. Completely out of anxiety.

The stones in the flow of the river you know, they are round, they are forced to be round. In the beginning the stone is not round, it has corners. But as it flows, it is banged from every side because of the corners. So, the more corners we have in our life, we’ll be banged, till you get round. Round is īśasya hi vaśe loko, yoṣā dārumayī yathā. 

Because the more the cows are killed, the more reaction will be there. Please, do Bhagavatam and if we get money automatically, do something for cows. That’s it.

Whichever circumstances you are in? Why should you force yourself to sleep like a hog? No, there is no need of it. No need. Any circumstance, devotional service must go on. And suppose circumstances are completely opposite vipareet, even then we require devotional service, more during that time.

So after four o’clock we must have half an hour for Bhagavatam at least. Bhagavatam must be there. Daily, in the evening everybody, those who are here, must come here for Bhagavad Gita. Whether I’m here or not please Bhagavad Gita must go on. Bhagavatam must go on. Otherwise we lose. Whatever we have gained, within no time we lose. Bhagavatam is the main source. jayam udīrayet the means of conquest. If you don’t do this, your place is not here..

Prabhupada is still alive in his literature, we don’t go to him. We don’t try to learn from him, this is our defect. Please we have to remove this defect. Don’t depend upon anything except Prabhupada. And do take Prabhupada from his books. Always eternally you will have the guidance. And pure guidance. Please those who run after Prabhupada, they cannot go wrong.

Please, this we are unnecessarily beating about the bush. We have a jewel in our hand and we are running after the glass pieces. Bhagavatam is with you. So many instances are here. Man! Ginger can cure this boy, why, why can’t it cure everybody? The patience is required. Tolerance and patience will clean (your) any sickness you have.

If the dead kidney can be live by ginger, which disease cannot be cured? Please, this is the proof. Living proof. Forget about anything and everything, This is Bhagavatam. If some juice from our land cures our body, how much this Bhagavatam will cure? Please, try to remember these things.

I told you always in our life, knowingly or unknowingly, many times we don’t want to do false things. But even then we do. It happens. And then we have to suffer for that, to that extent. But while suffering also, if you have Bhagavatam with you, then suffering will not be there.

So really if we are worried about our own people, we should be more with Bhagavad Gita. Your child is there, what are you doing here? And what can you do for her? She is getting older, she is drinking, she is digesting, she is doing everything and you are sitting here. Really if you are worried about her, go to Bhagavad Gita. Go to Bhagavatam, chant.

Prabhupada had made Bhagavatam as his goal of existence. He wanted to translate the whole thing and in the end of the life, he stopped anything and everything, but he continued with this translation. So how much important he might have thought about this? Why can’t you follow Prabhupada in that way? We sing Prabhupada, Prabhupada, Prabhupada, Prabhupada. We cry day and night, doesn’t follow at all. Really if you care for Prabhupada, you should not leave Bhagavatam for a single second. That is the way.

Those who obeyed their parents, the family was prosperous. Those who didn’t obey, they were destroyed. This was completely clear in front of our eyes. And now everybody is disrespecting them. So, the destruction is at large. You don’t follow the Vedic principle and you’ve destroyed culture

Whatever little we can put into practice, the immediate result is there, immediate. You, you may stop the material activities. Please, don’t do anything, just read Bhagavatam, read Bhagavad Gita. Don’t do anything else. Somehow or the other, 12’o’clock… something will come in front of you. If it doesn’t come, so much has already come. So it doesn’t matter

Common sense is depending on this īśasya hi vaśe loko, yoṣā dārumayī yathā. Then somebody creates a loss to us, it’s alright, somebody (creates) gain, alright. No gain - alright, happens - alright, doesn’t happen - alright. Everything is alright.

One may become as strong and puffed up as Hiranyakashipu and bring under his control all the three worlds, but there is no possibility of continuing life eternally or keeping the conquered booty forever. So many emperors have ascended to power, and they are now lost in oblivion; that is the history of the world

When Maharaj was about 10 or 12 years old, there was a tenant who was cheating Maharaj's father by neither paying them rent, nor vacating the house. Even as a child, when Maharaj heard about this, he became very upset and was suggesting to his father that he should take some strict action against the tenant. Maharaj's father too was a very surrendered soul and so he replied to Maharaj, "Don't worry. Krishna will take care."

This body itself is temporary. So how can miseries associated with it be permanent? Be courageous and absorb yourselves in study of Srimad Bhagavatam

"This world is a bank and everyone has a joint account with problems." So when someone makes progress in life, inspite of all problems, we should have the big heart to congratulate, appreciate and encourage them for their efforts. When someone is facing reverses in life, or falls down from spiritual path, we should feel compassionate for them and pray for them.

ISKCON is Prabhupada's heart. Come what may, you stay here in ISKCON. We may fight with each other in ISKCON, doesn't matter. Okay? Fight, you understand? Fight? Little, little fight (laughs). (Pointing to one devotee Maharaj jokes) You create fight (laughter)!

We are all travellers and we are completely troubled and fortunately we have come to our destination, Krishna bhakti. This is our final destination. You please don't leave your final destination. And be very peaceful in your destination. As soon as you leave this platform, there is all trouble.

As it is, you are going to lose the body. This body cannot be yours for long time. Till you have that asset, you please make this goal that you will study this scripture and you will broadcast it as loud as you can. Go to house-to-house, distribute Srila Prabhupada's books, try to have sankirtan, try to distribute prasadam as we are doing, and increase this population

At the time of death, the whole intelligence is gone. So Srila Prabhupada is telling that instead of 10 percent, utilise your 60 percent, 70 percent or 80 percent of intelligence, and try to get into these things. (scriptural study)

We don't want to read only the verse. No, verse is very clear. The equivalents are given, purport is there, translation is there, but we have to have our own realisations. And the more you try, the more you think over these verses, you will have definitely realisations.

"You have 24 hours at your disposal. You please try to do whatever you want for 22 hours, but you just give me 2 hours. And in one hour, you chant rounds, whatever the number you can chant; and in one hour, you read my books, and I will guarantee you that you will not fall down."

You have so much time. What you should do, that you should study one verse, in the morning, and keep the xerox copy or written copy with you. And whenever you have few minutes, you just look to the verse, because you have already understood one verse, so if you go on looking to the verses, for the whole day, maybe in two days you will learn the verse

Banana like face...I don't like. You know banana? Face banana, no. (laughter)... Melon, melon, melon (laughter)...Hare Krishna! Our Krishna smiles, you don’t have Krishna here, that's why you are not smiling. (laughter).

Prabhupada was very calm and quiet and said, "Do you want to see my miracle?" Yes, we want to see chamatkaar (laughter). Chamatkaar means miracle. So, Prabhupada said that these white boys they are from America; see they are shaved; they have nice shika; they are wearing dhoti; this is my miracle (laughter). And really, this was his miracle!!

Vaishnavas have to go to some literature which gives you direction to these inconceivable Supreme Absolute Truth. And that is why we are daily, we are discussing this scripture. naṣṭa-prāyeṣv abhadreṣu nityaṁ bhāgavata-sevayā. Everyday regularly we are coming to this

The only extreme good fortune is that somehow or the other, we have come in contact with Srila Prabhupada's literature and ISKCON - it's the great fortune for the living entities.

This history is spotless description of the Supreme Absolute Truth, Krishna. And that is why it is not in a chronological order; wherever and whichever situation Krishna is glorified, is included in this scripture. That is why... it is known as purāṇam amalaṁ.

The only thing is required...that you please take at least half an hour, 15 minutes, 1 hour whatever time you can afford and get into this very submissively. You may read one paragraph or you may read one shloka…it does not matter. Whatever you read, you just chew over it again and again for the whole day, and you will have definitely light. Krishna is not far away; He is just in these shlokas.
