Whenever devotees shared with our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj some verse or some punching lines of Srila Prabhupada, Maharaj with the innocence of a child always took out his note and pen and wrote them down in his diary, not leaving out even the punctuation marks. He would later thank the devotee for sharing that point and would be glorifying that devotee, to whomever he speaks or calls. Maharaj is a Mahabhagavata and embodiment of all knowledge. But still like a sincere student, he had the eagerness to learn and was never lethargic to write down

Parikshit Maharaj as soon as, he knew that he is going to die in 7 days by snake bite, so he immediately left everything and went to the bank of Ganges and so many rishis started assembling. As he was very famous, so he was asking them. "Now what is my duty, as I am going to die. As you all know, so please let me know what I should do?"

So every time you visit the temple, for every time you attend the program, that is the real liquid mercy of Krishna. Without His mercy, you will never come to the program.

Devotional activity, like water they have a tendency to infiltrate. These ceremonies we have performed here, don't be under illusion that this will be forgotten. It will always infiltrate, because young ones are here. The boys are here. They know ceremony is going on. Eventually they will perform the same type of ceremony and they will try to give to the future generations. So generation after generation it will filter.

If the beggar knows the position of the person to whom he is begging, he will never beg. And if the person whom the beggar is begging, if he knows the position of the beggar, he will never deny.” This is the relationship. Please always think from others’ point of view..

He opened the coal cupboard, you know under the stair case. In London they stock the coal. He opened the cupboard and under light meter, there was a small shelf and poor Krishna was standing on the shelf. So he said, "daily in the morning I see and close it." I told only one man will be liberated by Krishna and that is a light meter reader.

Those who are of envious nature, they are killed  by their own envy. Envious nature - We don't have to take any revenge on them. We should pity them that, how this living entity is killing himself or herself? That's the way to think about it. No Counteraction is the best counteraction. We don't take any counteraction. Then you win in the end.

I asked her that, "In prison all rowdy criminals are there. How you survive in there”? So she said, "I am working in the life sentence wing." So they should be very rowdy because they are going to  be killed, so they can afford to be rowdies. She said, "No No those who know they are going to die on Saturday they behave very well." This is the knowledge.

All the time we stay in that building, we are fully aware that, 'I have to go.' So furniture is best, everything is best, but we are not attached because we don't claim the ownership. As soon as there is ownership, this moha creeps in. Illusion creeps in.

Once there was a lecture in South India. Some swami came and so many people went to hear him. After they came out, they were praising him like anything. "Swami talks so nice, so nice, so nice, so nice." So somebody asked, "What was nice about it?" "Oh! he talks so high, we don't understand anything (laughter)."

As soon as you touch Bhagavad Gita or Srimad Bhagvatam, the energy continues to flow. This is the most energetic thing we have, Prabhupada’s mercy. And you just read one paragraph and you meditate on that paragraph for the whole day, whenever you are free, then the life is completely changed and this is initiation.

These facts, in the material world, they always have a tendency to slip into the dreaming stage. That’s the best thing. Either good or bad, dreams are dreams. We learn from them may be. But we don’t mourn about it or not very happy about it. This is the point in the material energy and if you don’t win, the material energy this way then “yuṣmat-prasaṅga-vimukhā”

So please remember that this is the beginning you know? Initiation, it’s not the end. Real life starts now. So far we had life, cat's and dog's life - eating and sleeping and mating and defending etc. From today there's a time when we should resolve, "with every breath, we must have one Krishna’s name."

Once when he was engaged in bhajana, glorifying Vittal Panduranga, some envious person in that village wanted to disturb him and so he spit on him. Without uttering a word, Tukkaram got up and took bath in the Indriyani river, came back and continued with the bhajans. The envious person wanted to agitate Tukkaram somehow or the other and so he kept spitting on him

If someone is in distress and wants to get relief from his friend, sometimes it so happens that his friend does not appreciate the volume of distress he is suffering. But for the Supreme Lord it is not difficult. The Supreme Lord, as Paramātmā, is sitting within the heart of every living entity, and He directly perceives the exact causes of distress.

Contamination, we increase and that’s why the anxiety never leaves us. And as soon as there is anxiety, there is a grip on our whole being. Our being gets diseased. Our body gets diseased. The anxiety has taken grip over this. Whatever we are doing here I don’t know, but at least to some extent we are out of anxiety. And because we are out of anxiety, our sleep is unbroken

Hanumanji and Sugriva were asked to build a bridge across the Indian ocean to reach Lanka. Building a bridge across the ocean is such an herculean task. But Hanumanji was never daunted by the nature of the service. He knew that whenever Lord gives a service, He will also give the strength to carry out the service.

No one goes into the forest to set fires, but fires automatically take place in the forest, creating inconceivable calamities for the living beings of the forest. Such a fire cannot be extinguished by any human efforts. The fire can be extinguished only by the mercy of the Lord, who sends clouds to pour water on the forest.

We should re-establish our connections with Krishna. And have others also to establish connections. This is the only relief work to be done and everything is included in this. That is why Prabhupad was asked so many times, why you are not opening the hospitals? He said, I am opening the places in which they will not require the hospitals.

He said, "Why have you come?" (mimmicks) "Oh, I have a severe headache", and he looks to the pulse, "Alright. Two days, you take this in sweet." But I was not satisfied in two days. "No, no, headache is very severe" (laughs). "Alright, you take it for seven days." I was very happy. Because seven days sweet will be there.

Any ailment and ginger will work. So anything, so any disturbance, any inauspicious that you see around, and we should inspect ourselves, whether we are in touch with Krishna or not. Touch of  Krishna will remove all the difficulties, like ginger. Krishna has given one medicine only and that is vishva-bheshaja.

Suppose there is excessive heat, we stop the work, excessive cold we stop the work, so duties will be disturbed but constant touch with the Lord gives us the capacity to follow our regular schedule, otherwise the work is affected, we may be forced to attend the office. We may be forced, that there is excessive heat or cold, but we are forced to attend the office, but the work will not be done. We will be there in the office but we don’t do that work.

When we become insensitive in our dealings, many times we indulge in funny talks and sarcastic speech and teasing, which ultimately ends up being unpalatable. When there is a tendency to over talk, unknowingly we cross our boundaries and before we realize anything, we have already hurt and insulted the other person.

Krishna told Bali Maharaj - "O Bali, consider the consequences of ridiculing a Vaishnava. If perfect personalities like these received so much misery, what will be the fate of ordinary men? A sinner who criticizes a Vaishnava suffers misery birth after birth. Take this lesson to your heart. Never blaspheme or laugh at a Vaishnava. If one worships Me and chants My holy names, but blasphemes devotees, he’ll be vanquished.

One should not tolerate blasphemy against a Vaishnava but should immediately take one of three actions. If someone blasphemes a Vaishnava one should stop him with arguments and higher reason. If one is not expert enough to do this he should give up his life on the spot, and if he cannot do this, he must go away

Just like a tortoise withdraws its limbs into the shell when it senses danger, we should withdraw our energies from material solutions and try to go into the shell of spiritual protection which the Lord, His instructions, and guidance from Guru and Vaishnavas can offer us.

In the material world, when a person senses that there is some trouble brewing around them which might affect their ability to maintain their dignity or comfort, they perform what we would consider as a "graceful exit". If for example we are working in an organization, where we sense that the organization is not doing well, we might look for opportunities elsewhere and "bow out gracefully".

Our beloved Gurudev, HDG Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj often quoted this verse and liked it very much. He often referred it in his discourses because it describes the mad rush we seem to be in, as we participate in the unending "rat race"  of our lives, completely oblivious to the "sneaky snake of time" that can overcome and overtake us and finally gobble us up at any moment, irrespective of our standing in the race.
