We have our own kuṭumba, our own cat, cot, own chadar, my own bed, nice cushy you know. "I must have foam bed you know. Because I have to get up at four o'clock in the morning, I must have a very soft bed." And that soft bed then forces us to sleep more. (Gurudev laughs). Because it is soft. It forces us to sleep.
He was requesting us that, "Please for your good you just stick to me." "Me", means in the sense of his books. He was asking us many times that, "why am I writing? Why am I getting up at one o’ clock? You people are not reading. Why am I doing?"
And the main quality of a devotee is to fully depend upon Kṛṣṇa for cent percent time, whatever time we have for this body. Every second of our existence, we have to depend upon Him. He supplies water, He supplies air, He supplies our food, He supplies everything to us, clothes and everything He is giving. And for Him, we don't perform anything, that is maha moha
Always absorb the good instructions. The sponge, if it is new, it will definitely absorb the water. The old sponge, they become hard and they don't have any absorption capacity. We are becoming, our sponges are becoming old, because we are connected to the destructive mundane activities and mundane sounds.
Don't think that He was writing Bhagavad Gita for Himself. No! He doesn't need Bhagavad gita. vedānta-kṛd veda-vid eva cāham, He is the compiler of the Vedas and He is knower of the Vedas. So He knows Bhagavad-Gita fully within His heart. He doesn't want, but He has given us the instructions that, "you jiva, if you want to be happy on this planet, I am sending you son there, so you follow my instructions.
Arey man! Nothing is happening is your mistake, because you are entangled into the mundane sounds. You come to the transcendental sounds, come to the lotus feet of Prabhupada and he is there lovingly to guide you.
To take shelter of the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa means to act according to the rules and regulations of bhāgavata-dharma, devotional service. As far as economic development is concerned, we should discharge our occupational duties but fully depend on the lotus feet of the Lord for the results.
Anger is so detrimental that even a great personality like Daksha, out of anger, left the arena where Brahmā was presiding and all the great sages and pious and saintly persons were assembled. All of them requested him not to leave, but, infuriated, he left, thinking that the auspicious place was not fit for him.
We should remind ourselves that our real goal is to simply please Guru and Krishna. Our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj says that while doing service, we should be like salt in food. Although food is not palatable without salt, salt does not make itself visible or hanker for any recognition.
Today you have shown the highest degree of chastity. Narayana, who is represented by Sri Guru, is the only purusa and thus He is the enjoyer of prakrti. Only a great soul can fully realize this knowledge of devotional service. How fortunate I am to be married to such a lady who is the embodiment of religious principles.
Being most displeased to hear how his disciple had failed to show proper respect to Vaishnava guests, Yatiraja decided he would go instead to the house of Varadacarya. This second disciple was an extremely poor man, but was noted for his pure heart and great devotion to Lord Vishnu.
When you become in service attitude, just to serve Kṛṣṇa with humble attitude, with devotion, then Kṛṣṇa will reveal. Otherwise you cannot understand Kṛṣṇa. It is not possible. If you think that "I am very rich man. I can offer Kṛṣṇa so many things, nice dress, nice foodstuff. Kṛṣṇa now is within my grip," no. Kṛṣṇa is not so cheap.
A demigod takes pleasure in seeing someone go back to Godhead. He is always pleased with a devotee of the Lord, so much so that by his adhidaivic powers he may help the devotees in all respects. And by their actions, the Lord is pleased with them. There is an invisible chain of complete cooperation between the Lord, the demigods and the devotee of the Lord on earth.
If we have come to the point of worshiping Lord Hari, what is the point of doing any more penances? If we have not come to the point of worshiping Lord Hari, then what is the use of doing any other penance? If we are able to see Krishna within and outside everything, then what is the need for any more penance? If we have not come to the point of seeing Krishna everywhere, what is the use of such penance?
Despite the opportunities for attaining such births, even if one gets the life span of a demigod, if one does not actually engage in the service of the Lord, everything is useless. Similarly, one’s activities may be mundane or spiritual, but they are useless if they are not meant for satisfying the Lord.
And wherever we go, we pass on this message that you please do anything and everything you want, be engaged in your activities for few hours, eight hours, or whatever it is. But whatever time that you get, you become gopī like this.
If we are not with the scriptures, if we are not in the devotional service then our time must be like a millennium-long. We should not spend a single moment here and there without these things. And this is gopī bhaav. This is to follow the gopīs. We should be completely become worm of these scriptures.
The President of Uganda, what he does during holidays you know, he grazes the cows. He has four hundred cows and he is insisting that everybody should have a holiday and graze the cows. He said because you are not grazing the cows you are mentals
You just start aradhana, from this moment. Otherwise within a second what is going to happen we don't know. We are here sitting nicely. After two seconds, we don't know really, about who is going to go and whether it is he or she going to go, never to meet again.
Unless we utilise every second at our disposal, it is impossible to get through these scriptures. And if you don't, then in the end, the horrible form is awaiting for us in the form of Yamraj or this or that you know.
We go fast and go to the beach you know. While going to the beach the meditation is going on, Aye! He is earning more than me. If I can I will really kick him out and I will have that counter. This is our mind. And we have to fight continuously, fight continuously, continuous fighting should be there
