It is very difficult to find out a saint like Prabhupada. Maybe we have wandered in millions of births before we came with him. His is the crystal-clear life and instructions. That’s why we should follow this duty now that whatever little time you get out of your maintenance jobs, you please invest into his books.

 We have to work for our bodily maintenance. And because we have complicated the life, that’s why most of the time is wasted in maintenance.

So, we see that it is raining (and we sleep). It maybe snowing outside, but outside it is snowing. Because it is snowing, I must sleep. Because it is raining, I must sleep. We find out some reason to sleep, not to be alert. And doesn’t matter. You sleep out of 24 hours, maybe you sleep in for 20 hours - allowed. But for 4 hours if you are awake, wake up. But we are not waking up also. With open eyes, also we sleep.

. Unfortunately, we are carrying this lump of body, so it will force you to be lazy. Then adverse conditions in material life, they also force us to be lazy. Till I am successful I am enthusiastic, as soon as I am unsuccessful, I am lazy. That’s why, we have come to the spiritual side, be it success or failure, it is regarded as the same thing.

If you really carefully study, then you would have asked me that why it is so. But you are not studying, that is the problem. We are just touching it; we are just licking from outside. You are not getting into it and that is the greatest trouble you are in. You think you are with Bhagavatam, and you are not at all with Bhagavatam. This is very condemning. You really have to be with Bhagavatam.

When we glorify Krishna, we are purified by His mercy. But flattering mortal people, with the intent of getting some reward from them, is not the activity of transcendentalist.

In the present age no one can observe the strict rules and regulations of placing oneself in a sacred place, focusing the mind on the Supersoul, restraining the senses and mind, observing celibacy, remaining alone, etc. By the practice of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, however, one engages in nine types of devotional service to the Lord.

If we anchor our mind at the lotus feet of Krishna, then it will not hanker for anything else. Boat when not anchored properly gets swayed hither and thither in the ocean.

This is in conclusion of the previous offering titled - "Renunciation - Better Late than Never " wherein we were trying to meditate on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 2.2.4.

Saintly persons become powerful by execution of austerities. Their consciousness is unshakable because they do not try to enjoy anything within the material world.

If we are not renounced from the beginning of our lives, we should try to take up renunciation atleast now. Better late than never.

Life’s desires should never be directed toward sense gratification. One should desire only a healthy life, or self-preservation, since a human being is meant for inquiry about the Absolute Truth. Nothing else should be the goal of one’s works

Maharaj says the moment when one decides, "TV is not necessary for our house" - then he becomes free from the whole world of TVs.

In the last stage of life, should not desire to transfer himself to the so-called heavenly planets, but should prepare himself for going back home, back to Godhead. None of the material planets, nor the amenities available there for living conditions, is everlasting; therefore one must have a factual reluctance to enjoy such temporary happiness as they afford

Liberation means getting out of the slumber of forgetfulness and becoming situated in the real loving service of the Lord.

I have brought the medicine that will wipe out the disease of illusion from which you are suffering. Take this maha-mantra- "Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

You have to be more enthusiastic than the material people in the spiritual matters. Otherwise, the lethargy will enter into your life. Lethargy means destruction of spiritual matters. Neither you are good for spiritual matters, nor you are good for material matters.

If you want to describe Bhagavad Gita or Bhagavatam in one word, then it is control. Control in everything. And if you are controlled, then you will commit less sins. If you are uncontrolled, then sins will increase..

The more you involve in this transcendental sound, the more you are free of death.

This planet is not the place to stay for us. It is only temporary, temporary residence. You have come here, and you are bound to go. It may be a very good place, but it is temporary. And we don’t forget that. I have to go to my house, towards my house, always remember.

Those who hesitate, they suffer. Those who obey, they enjoy. Obedience always gives us the free time.

 in this world here, nobody is independent. Everybody vivaśā unconsciously follows His directions. So, many times it may be suitable to us or may not be suitable to us but everything is coming from Him. So, whether we try to tolerate or we cannot maybe tolerate, whatever may be, but we have to go to His lotus feet to correct.

On the one hand we go on tolerating the onslaughts of the material life and on the other hand, we keep up the courage by being constantly in touch with Krishna, through persistent chanting or understanding Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavatam or any other literature.

Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī’s earrings are the name, fame and qualities of Lord Kṛṣṇa. The glories of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s name, fame and qualities are always inundating Her speech.

The earrings will be taken by their kids or relatives. Even while alive, thieves can take away the earrings. But there is a permanent earring (decoration for ears) which cannot be taken away by anyone or time or even death. Great devotees have recommended those earrings for all living entities.

Your grandson will be able to see, inside and outside, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, whose wife is the beautiful goddess of fortune. The Lord can assume the form desired by the devotee, and His face is always beautifully decorated with earrings.

 The Lord’s earrings also represent His protection of surrendered souls and destruction of their enemies. ‘kuṇḍalam daho rakshanam va, sa asya asti iti kuṇḍali’ – That which has the property or guna of burning or destruction of dangers (dahah – dahanam), or protection (rakshanam) is Kuṇḍala.

Dressed in bluish garments and wearing a single earring, He holds a plow on His back with His two beautiful and well-constructed hands.

The gopis recognized that Uddhava was Lord Krishna’s servant based on his dress and earrings which were given as remnants to him by Lord Krishna.

The earrings dancing on Kṛṣṇa’s cheeks are shaped like sharks, and they shine very brightly. These dancing earrings attract the minds of all women.
