One should neither praise nor criticize the conditioned nature and activities of other persons. Rather, one should see this world as simply the combination of material nature and the enjoying souls, all based on the Absolute Truth. Whoever indulges in praising or criticizing the qualities and behavior of others will quickly become deviated from his own best interest by his entanglement in illusory dualities.

In such a relative world, what appears to be appreciable at one point beomes most despicable at another point. Whoever is an enemy at one point, becomes a friend at another point. Whoever is an intimate friend, becomes most inimical at another point.

To become a pure devotee of Lord Kṛṣṇa, two things are very much essential, namely having a chance to be born in the family of a devotee and having the blessings of a bona fide spiritual master. By the grace of Lord Kṛṣṇa, Parīkṣit Mahārāja had both opportunities.

You are all my Guru Mahārāja’s representatives. So you are taking care, I am very much obliged to you. In my childhood I was very, very pet son of my father. My father was not very rich man, but still whatever I wanted he would give me. He never chastised me, but full of love. Then of course I got friends and was married, so by Kṛṣṇa’s grace everyone loved me. I came to this foreign country without any acquaintance, so Kṛṣṇa sent me many fathers to love me. In that way I am fortunate.

It is our pious duty to refine our speech in such a  manner that whomever living entities we meet must be pleased with us and become inspired to be attracted to the Lord. To enable this, Srila Prabhupada advocates that there is a limitless stock of Vedic literature, and one should study this. Then whatever we speak from scriptures, becomes meaningful and grave.

It is said that a fool is undiscovered as long as he does not speak, and certainly a well-dressed fool cannot be identified unless he speaks, but as soon as he speaks, he reveals himself at once.

And particularly the ladies, don’t find time in the house. They are either busy with children or arrangement of the house or what is cooking or. So, then when they come together, we should be very particular that they don’t talk unnecessary talks. We should be performing these talks. 

Out of all the speeches, that time was the best - when we are with Krishna. So always we should be with Krishna. Together it’s more effective. Sankirtan you know. On our own, we may try but even then the mind doesn’t keep quiet. But if you are In the group then we really are with Krishna.

As I told you, that Hare Krishna was very nice. (referring to devotee in London) He was telling. Always I was asking him, "where do you know?" "In books, in Prabhupada’s books, in Prabhupada's books." So I have taken from him that - "in Prabhupada’s books."  And really, I could find out and now you too.

We try to make it as simple as possible to the public at large and we discourage the values, which are not very favorable to help the spiritual progress. That we do, but that too in a mild way you know. And smilingly you can tell them something. They know everything. This is how we should behave.

Our ignorance is that our devotional service depends upon something. That is greatest ignorance. Devotional service does not depend on whether you talk with me or not. My devotional service is going on. I am not disturbed at all.

I wanted to know. I was born Vaishnava also, but I didn’t know anything. In my childhood I was asking questions. Nobody was able to answer.

Then we went on tour also in Europe. you know, all by car we went, to Madrid and to Rome and to Switzerland.  Everywhere we moved and then it widened my outlook. And I also had to study more, to give the lectures. This is how eventually the spiritual progress continued.

I did that and liked it, like anything you know. Because for the whole time, for whole 5 or 6 hours, I was with Bhagavatam. And within no time, I finished the whole thing, taken bit of notes.

In this world, a smiling face is a boon. Very difficult to find that face. Arre man, what is there? And by smiling, you know better than me. By smiling, we improve our health. You don’t want to. Always long face.

You should just talk nicely. nicely smiling... These children come, I tell them to smile, and they bloom.  And they like it. Otherwise, nobody tells them to smile. They come running to me and I just smile only. (laughter) priya vākya pradānena. They don’t want anything else.

As I told you many times that we don’t remember our death. (laughs) For me it’s becoming clear now. (laughs). That death is going to be there. But those who know that they are passing away, they will always feel burning desire to be of some help to some living entity

This is Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's recommendation, that sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhiḥ: "You remain in your position." It doesn't require to change, because you are gṛhastha or you are engineer, you are doctor or you are washerman. It doesn't matter. You remain in your position, sthāne sthitāḥ. But lend your eyes for aural reception of Kṛṣṇa's message.

Dhṛtarāṣṭra became very fearful about the influence of the holy place on the outcome of the battle. He knew very well that this would influence Arjuna and the sons of Pāṇḍu favorably, because by nature they were all virtuous

Even if we happen to die early, our life is meaningful if we could sincerely remember and serve Guru and Krishna honestly in whatever time we have at our disposal. On the other hand what is the use of prolonged life without remembering Krishna? In the purport to verse 2.3.18 His Divine Grace says, "Prolonged life without spiritual value is not very important."

Mahaprabhu: “What is the only thing we have to remember?” Sri Ramananda: “Krishna’s name, qualities, and pastimes.”

 A king should not simply give orders to his dependents because he is supreme; sometimes he must follow their instructions. Similarly, the dependents should depend on the king. This mutual dependence will make everyone happy

If we hanker for adoration from others, then death becomes very painful. Be free of these things.

If we pass our time simply by reading and talking about Kṛṣṇa, then the sun will not be able to take away our life. This is the secret

A moment passed in the association of a pure devotee by hearing and chanting the transcendental messages of the Lord is a perfect guarantee for eternal life, for returning home, back to Godhead. 

I have now become too old and disturbed by invalidity. While writing, my hands tremble. I cannot remember anything, nor can I see or hear properly. Still I write, and this is a great wonder.

The more you try to mitigate the miseries, the misery increases. The more you keep quite, the misery decreases. Very difficult to follow this. It is very difficult to keep quite, because you are completely beaten by the miseries. How can you keep quite?

Srimad Bhagavatam as it was spoken and heard by two principal devotees of the Lord, is only for the glorification of the Supreme Lord, the Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

Children's nature is to imitate, because they have to learn. So nature has given them the propensity to imitate. So the first imitation begins from the parents. If the parent is nice Kṛṣṇa devotee, naturally the children become devotee.

Everyone can become a sādhana-siddha, a devotee of the Lord, simply by association with the pure devotees. The concrete example is our great spiritual master Śrī Nārada Muni. In his previous life he was simply a boy of a maidservant, but through association with great devotees he became a devotee of the Lord of his own standard, unique in the history of devotional service

Never mind whether he's woman or a śūdra or a vaiśya," te 'pi yānti parāṁ gatim, "all of them can go back to home, back to Godhead." How? Māṁ hi pārtha vyapāśritya ye 'pi syuḥ pāpa-yonayaḥ (BG 9.32) "Simply he has to take shelter of Me seriously. That's all. Never mind what he is." Te 'pi yānti parāṁ gatim."
