The Lord could have chastised the demon immediately while the demon was deriding the Lord with ill words, but the Lord tolerated him to please the demigods and to show that they should not be afraid of demons while discharging their duties.

Acharyas compare the churning of milky ocean to churning of our consciousness by the process of bhakti and love of God which is the ultimate goal is compared to nectar. And our entire efforts in bhakti is supported by the Lord’s mercy. Without Lord Kurma, churning of the ocean was not possible though devatas and asuras were willing to put effort. Similarly without the Lord’s mercy in every stage we cannot put efforts also in bhakti. The Lord appeared as Kurma to teach this great lesson.

Though He is the master of all living entities and can depute anyone to pull the boat, He did this Himself so that He can personally instruct Satyvrata and others in the boat about His glories and enlighten them spiritually. Also He did this to instruct Satyavrata by His personal example that  saintly persons, living entities and devotees and herbs are all worthy of protection and they deserve all care by the King.

Though He is full in Himself He (as archa vigraha) accepts all offerings made even by fallen people like us so that we can advance spiritually.

Those are the greatest souls (Sat or Uttama Purusha)  who, for the sake of helping others, forsake their own interests or comforts.

Maintenance has to go on, you may have money, but you have to top up the money always. (Maharaj explains in Gujarati) Always we have to top it up, otherwise it will not be enough. This is how the case is. So, give allowance to the maintenance job and as soon as the maintenance is over, you please come to this corner.

Always we should remember, as I many times tell you that we are in Kali Yuga, the struggle of existence is going to be very trivra, very acute. So, we have to adjust our economic position. So, our time should be utilised in two things only, either you are working for maintenance, or you are with Krishna. There is no room for any other thing. 

We just evade this problem. When we don’t find the solution, we feel it is safe to evade it or to forget it. You know like that rabbit, there is a story of the rabbit. There was a big storm was coming, and he wanted to evade the storm, so he said I don’t want to see the storm, so he put his head into the sand. But he thought that if he doesn’t see the storm, there cannot be storm. In the end he himself was blown off.

People will remember Dada, these small boys they will remember Dada and when they see Dada, always he is chanting or whatever, they will also take it up. Generations will be liberated; this is the importance of Bhagavatam,

Uncontrolled life will be diseased life, always, because there is no control. So, everywhere the control is needed. Because we are following the control of Krishna, that’s why we are healthy, otherwise as soon as you reject Krishna, you are diseased.

The setting of the sun does not mean the end of the sun. It means that the sun is out of our sight. Similarly, the end of the mission of the Lord on a particular planet or universe only means that He is out of our sight.

One who has got intelligence, he has got strength, and one who has got no intelligence, rascal fool, what strength there is?" These people are like that, rascal fools. We don't take advice from them. We take advice from Kṛṣṇa or His representative

Prabhupada had 108 temples, and he never claimed any temple by himself. It was his, and even then he did not claim. This is transcendence. He was completely with Bhagavatam. So, what stops us?

Krishna is the Supreme powerful magnet. And because He is the Supreme powerful magnet, being part and parcel we helplessly are attracted to Him. Magnet is also iron, iron pieces are also iron and that’s why they are attracted. The wood pieces will never be attracted to the magnet. So you have to have the same kind, this goes without saying

I don’t know how to go back and to what limit we should go back. But there is no limit. Prabhupada said that better we go 200 years back. This is the thing. Please, try to understand these things and save yourself from cheating. Try to find out the original thing, so that our human existence doesn’t get wasted.

First rocket is Bhagavad Gita, second is Bhagavatam, study of Bhagavatam is the third one, and then we are in transcendence. Third one is deep study of Bhagavatam, what you are doing (referring to a devotee). And that will put us in transcendence. But one thing we miss, that these rockets, are highly active. Highly active, otherwise they cannot take it. So, action (in) devotional service; this is the thing.  Mere going through the scriptures also will not help us. The active nature should be there.

These sixteen words in the Maha Mantra, they can eradicate all the Kali Yuga inebrieties. This we don’t know at all because we don’t chant lovingly. We have made it a ritual if at all we chant. So, this is the main thing. In chanting He is there, in sound vibration He is there. And that is aṇor aṇīyāṁ

That is Krishna, perfection is His monopoly. And we people who run after Him should be somewhat perfect, may not be purna. He is complete. But because we are running after Him, so we are much better than the ordinary lot.

The thing is, even in this crowded situation also, we should always be with Bhagavatam. Life is always going to be crowded by nonsense.

Computers we may use, but for assisting us. We should not be dictated by computer. And my experience is that unless we have book to read, you cannot really read. In computer we may refer, but reading is impossible. It is not a reading thing, you must have the book to read.

The whole civilisation unfortunately is completely misdirected. Because every living entity is very eager to find out what is transcendence. Transcendence - we don’t have any idea, that is what the transcendence means.

Understanding is certain level, and understanding means mind, mental level. And we are well aware that on the mental level you cannot experience Krishna. As soon as you try to experience on a mental level, He vanishes. That’s why mind should not come in your way. 

There must be something wrong with them. Because the bhāv is wrong. We don’t have sufficient bhāv. We have converted everything into ritual. It is mechanical. Bhāv must be there. And if you don’t have, then don’t touch. That is how. Who forces you to do? But when you do it, do it properly.

That is what Prabhupada always insisted that you have 24 hours, just take an hour or two give it to me, and you be with me. So, it doesn’t matter, you may be working or doing anything, doesn’t matter at all. But whatever time you are with Krishna, you be with Krishna. Sincerely. Otherwise, don’t come. He doesn’t invite, nobody invites, but we are attracted helplessly.

Kindness is to be shown by a noble person either towards a sinner or to a virtuous person or even to a person who deserves death, for, there is none who never commits a wrong.

When snakes drink milk, it only increases their venom. Similarly, good instructions offered to fools makes them angry, and does not give them peace of mind. 

Anger is such a powerful emotion that it is like a fire which can destroy ourselves and those around us. There may be situations in our life where there is a necessity to express anger, but we should not carry over the feeling of anger within us.

Till the end of our lives, we should be loving to all. Our anger should not last for more than a moment as needed by the situation and we should not carry it over with us. We should not be giving advice to every one all the time. Advice should be given based on time, place and circumstances. Never should we be inimical.

Don’t touch any other book except Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavatam. No other book at all. And that too written and purported by Prabhupada. Don’t read any other thing.

And only the Prabhuapda’s way will save the humanity. Because he did not have to achieve anything from us and that’s why without any selfish interest, he has given the correct instructions. Please look to these things, put your heads into Bhagavatam and just tolerate everything here and go on tolerating for the whole of life. 

They are elders, always please be respectful to them. Now supposing we are standing in a line for execution, we are all standing, frankly speaking we are all standing in a line. I am the first one to be executed, so you should do at least one thing, that you should be good to me. I tell you, "please wash my dhoti," you wash, because you know that he is going. (laughter)
