As soon as we have time, please just chant. Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. And in order to strengthen the faith in names, we have to read and learn verses and explain to us (ourselves) and explain to the public at large.
niḥśvāse nāhi viśvāsaḥ, we cannot trust it. When it will stop kadā ruddho bhaviṣyati, when it will stop we don’t know. kīrtanīya mato bālyād, that’s why young and old together should perform kirtan of the names, harer nāmaiva kevalam. The holy name of Lord Hari is surely all that be.
if you follow this straight line, nobody will have any effect on you. They come to our group, they chant, they read Bhagavatam, they hear Bhagavad Gita, they want to speak Bhagavad Gita, they are welcome. But this is the only limit. We don’t want to go here and there. Enough of it – distraction we had
And as soon as the calf is released, it immediately runs to the mother. The same way, as soon as we are released from these prescribed duties, we straight away go to Bhagavad Gita or Bhagavatam, chanting or whatever. This should be our condition.
To the degree we forget Krishna’s names, to that degree only we are miserable. And if you want to reduce the misery, this is the only effective medicine. No other medicine can work. Please you understand this.
As soon as the artificial covering is removed, then pure living entity in the form of servant of Krishna remains. Otherwise, there is nothing. In this purity, there is only one thing that remains and that is service.
Who knows that even coming from Hawaii to Auckland, we are at His mercy really. The plane is in the air, all around is unlimited mass of water. There is no land down. And even if the land is there, even then we can’t survive. Something goes wrong and never know really where are we, which part of the Pacific Ocean we are. We are so tiny fellow, within a second, we can go off.
When he went to USA for preaching, all he had was great commitment to the order of his spiritual master and strong faith in holy name. He simply started chanting in the park of Newyork and gradually people started coming towards him and it exploded into a world wide spiritual movement.
For a person who is suffering in the fire of countless miseries and who desires to cross the insurmountable ocean of material existence, there is no suitable boat except that of cultivating devotion to the transcendental taste for the narrations of the Supreme Personality of Godhead’s pastimes.
In our present state of imperfect material existence, we cannot see the Supreme Lord due to imperfect vision. Yet those devotees who want to see Him by means of material vision are favoured by the Lord, who appears in a so-called material form to accept His devotees
Several people called Him many bad names and gave Him a great deal of trouble, but He tolerated all this and never showed anger. Though He is object of glorification by choicest prayers, He accepted all bad names.
The Lord always wants His devotees to get glory than Himself. So Vyasadeva chose his son Sukadeva form this great service. Thus we see that Vyasadeva exhibited qualities of dissatisfaction, ignorance etc and lowered himself for the glorification of Narada Muni.
In order to glorify Sukadeva Goswami, Vyasadeva acted as a normal father and householder. Also He did this to teach others that one should not pretend to be self realized as long as he can differentiate between man and woman.
O Purushottama, there is no doubt that You alone will be able to slay everyone in the war field. I can also kill everyone in the battle alone by myself. But You are a very famous and illustrious person in this world. I am a person looking for fame. So I have selected You. It has always been my desire to have You for driving my chariot. I therefore request You to fulfil my desire cherished for a long time.
I will sincerely endeavour to bring welfare for the sons of Dhritarashtra, Pandavas and all kshatriyas of this world. While I am endeavouring for the welfare of all these parties, even if Duryodhana judges Me wrongly, I don’t mind and I will have the satisfaction of My own conscience for My efforts.
Ramayana (6.105.28,29) states that not only Surgiva, but anyone who is devoted to Rama will not be baffled in his attempts to attain prema bhakti. This is because Lord Rama will elevate His devotee regardless of the devotee’s qualification because He is Purushottama.
So He who is undefeatable, voluntarily accepted defeat at the hands of Bhishma. So He was defeated by the devotion of Bhishma and not his power. In this way he brought so much glory to His devotee and disciple at the cost of His own defeat.
