śrotavyādīni rājendra nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ
apaśyatām ātma-tattvaṁ gṛheṣu gṛha-medhinām

Gurudev: bhada accha slok hai yeh, (This is a very nice sloka)

Gurudev chants the invocation very beautifully and devotees repeat: oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya (3 times)

Gurudev: Did you take out? 2nd canto 1st chapter any sloka, 1st sloka, umm! I think this is 1st or 2nd it is very near. Take out 1st (Gurudev asking devotees to takeout SB 2.1.2) Very easy to remember 2.1.2 (Gurudev and devotees laugh)

Gurudev recites word by word and devotes repeat: being blind to the knowledge of ultimate truth. This is our condition. Hum blind hai, andha tamo andham - you know. Blinded darkness of ignorance. - it is said. Blinded darkness, yahan abhi suraj hai toda dek raha hai, raat ko blinded darkness ho jaataa haiaankh honey par bhi hum dek nahi sakte. (Now, here there is sun. So we can see otherwise we can’t see in darkness, inspite of having the eyes). That is "blinded".  So being blind to the knowledge of Ultimate Truth.

Gurudev: aur yahi sab jivo khi dasha hai (and this is the condition of the living entities). It's very nice you know. Very nice, very nice,  Prabhupada's words are very good. (Gurudev recites and devotes repeat:) Those persons, who are materially engrossed, being blind, to the knowledge, of ultimate truth

Gurudev recites the translation and devotees repeat: Those persons who are materially engrossed, being blind to the knowledge of ultimate truth, have many subject matters for hearing in human society, O Emperor.

Gurudev: How, how easy it is. Repeat. (Devotee reads the translation and Gurudev and devotees repeat.) See this is, very good, correct thing this is. You go in anywhere you know, in relations, your nears and dears, whatever, father, mother, brother, their wives, their in-laws, these in-laws and that in-laws and that in-laws, they all come together to talk completely nonsense. How many, your motel is full, how much you earned? How many rooms are there? When did you buy this motel?(Gurudev laughs) or are you working in America? Your work is alright? These, that, that, that, how many children you have? Are they married? Are they, how long are they going to school? Nothing to do with the ultimate truth! This is nonsense. bilkul, bilkul hum jo hai na gross materialistic ho jaate hai, Sum gross material ka nehi hona chaiyey (we become gross materialistic but sum total should not be materialistic).

(Quoting Srimad Bhagavatam 1.19.16 Maharaj says)

punaś ca bhūyād bhagavaty anante
ratiḥ prasaṅgaś ca tad-āśrayeṣu
mahatsu yāṁ yām upayāmi sṛṣṭiṁ
maitry astu sarvatra namo dvijebhyaḥ

punaś ca bhūyād bhagavaty anante, yeh parikshit maharaj jo chod diyaa sab unko curse kiya (This Parikshit maharaj, he left everything when cursed), he was cursed by Shrngi. So he immediately left everything and he went to the Ganges and sat there. And he himself told the sages that punaś ca bhūyād bhagavaty anante, ratiḥ prasaṅgaś ca tad-āśrayeṣu yāṁ yām upayāmi sṛṣṭiṁ, tad-āśrayeṣu jana tad-āśrayeṣu, I don't remember exactly but these three things he asked. He says punaś ca bhūyād. He says, "I am sinful living entity. So I will have to take birth again. So I request you, request you God you know that punaś ca bhūyād bhagavaty anante, I must be attracted to You. ratiḥ prasaṅgaś ca tad-āśrayeṣu, tad-āśrayeṣu, those who have taken Your shelter they should be my associates. This is the 2nd thing he asked." First he asked that I must have attraction to You, then I must associate with the devotees, tad-āśrayeṣu, and 3rd one, yāṁ yām upayāmi sṛṣṭeh, wherever I take my birth, maybe on this planet or other planets, wherever please ratiḥ prasaṅgaśya, mei humesha tere hi topics mei ( not clear) rahu. Yeh theen bath keha ( not clear) (I should be always be in association of Your topics, these 3 things he asked).

Gurudev: punaś ca bhūyād, punaś ca bhūyād bhagavaty anante Ah! Radhika, I will tell you one thing. You should tie your hair. Don't leave open like this. When you, when you are sitting in katha. This is very bad ( not clear) mata. Tie.

Another devotee: Radhika beta can you bring the band and tie your hair please. (Gurudev laughs)

Gurudev: Ah! accha,  p u n a h, 2nd ca, c a and bhūyād, b h u y a d, does that hit, let me see, 1.19?

Devotee sings the verse (ŚB 1.19.16) and Gurudev repeats:

Gurudev: Very good.

Devotee: maitry astu sarvatra namo

Gurudev: dvijebhyaḥ, dekiye pehali batho mei kaha hai, punaś ca bhūyād bhagavaty anante, meri man humesha bhagavan mei rahey. Mujhe itna dena khi mera man hamesha bhagavan mei rahey. Dusari bhath yeh kaha hai ki thera jho bhakt hai unnika association mei, uni mei attraction (the first thing he asks is let me have unflinching attachment to You, second thing he asks is let me have association of Your devotees).

Gurudev: attraction ho, teesra mei kahi bhi janma lu sab khey saath mera maitri ho, friendship, yeh theen bhathey humay karney khey liya easy hai (S

ee the first thing that is told is, let my mind always be on the Lord, give me this much that my mind is always the Lord. The second thing told is that let me always be in the association of your devotees and the third it is told that, when I take my birth let me have friendship with all. These three things are easy for us to do) aur yeh Sukadev swami aaney sai pehaley unhoney bathaaya. (and this was told before the arrival of Sukadev Goswami), his greatness. Parikshit Maharaj tho (was), he was the grandson of Arjuna. So association, yeh tho unkho bhada abhimaan tha khi mera grandfather Kṛṣṇa khey saath ghoomtha tha. Yeh hum, aap bhi grandfather honey wala hotho inkho aisey, inko bhacchey kho aisa lagey khi meri grandfather Kṛṣṇa ka bhakta hai (Gurudev laughs) (This is his greatest pride that his grandfather was wandering around with Kṛṣṇa. This we, you also are going to be a grandfather. Then your grandchildren also should feel that my grandfather is Kṛṣṇa's devotee) Kṛṣṇa khey saath ghoomtha tha woh hum bhi saath ghoom rahey hai na Kṛṣṇa khey saath ghoom rehay hai. Arjuna nehi ghooma, only Arjuna nehi hum bhi tho ghoom rahey hai. Yes please yeh, yeh hamesha, bholeya (He was roaming about with Kṛṣṇa. Not only did Arjuna wander with Krishna, we are also wandering. Yes please, this always, please recite)

Gurudev sings the verse (ŚB 1.19.16) and Devotees repeats:

Gurudev: kaviṁ purāṇam anuśāsitāram, woh raag hai, punaś ca bhūyād bhagavaty anante. (Maharaj says that 1.19.16 should be sung in kaviṁ purāṇam tune.)

Gurudev: itna hi chahiye. Humey mitratha rakhni hai but mitratha in intimacy nehi. There shouldn't be any intimacy. We like everybody, but we are not intimate to anybody. Intimacy is to Kṛṣṇa. That's all. Otherwise we mix intimacy and maitry. That's wrong, completely wrong. Hum sabsey, sab kha friend hai, no intimate. That we have to be very careful. (Gurudev again chants the verse(ŚB 1.19.16) so beautifully and devotees repeat.)

Gurudev: It's not going up. No, is it stuck? Translation, no, no. Yes, read the translation.

Devotee reads the translation and Gurudev and devotees repeat: Again, offering obeisances unto all you brāhmaṇas, I pray that if I should again take my birth in the material world I will have complete attachment to the unlimited Lord Kṛṣṇa, association with His devotees and friendly relations with all living beings.

Gurudev: Very good.

Gurudev: itna ho tho nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ wrong hai. Humarey kho tho ekh hi topic hai aur jahan kṛṣṇa khey topic na ho vahan achuth samajkhey bhag khey vahan bhag jana hai. Caitanya Mahaprabhu dusri khoi bhat hoti thi donoo hath pur ungliya dalthey they aur yehi karkey vaha sei chali jathey they. Please yeh karna hai nehi tho apni ( not clear) nonsense hova tho (Gurudev laughs)

(This much there is nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ is wrong. We have only one topic and wherever there is no Kṛṣṇa's topic, from there thinking that place untouchable we have to run away from there. Caitanya Mahaprabhu, if there is any topic not related to Kṛṣṇa used to close His eyes and walk away from there. Please, we have to follow this). (not clear) aap kho tho (not clear) nonsense, (Gurudev and devotees laugh) phone karey tho nonsense, marey tho nonsense ( devotees laugh), suvey tho nonsense, jagey tho nonsense, ( not clear) (Gurudev and devotees laugh). (if we make phone call, nonsense, if we die, nonsense, when we are awake, nonsense) How will you say everything is nonsense? You are running after nonsense he says.  (not clear) because you are doing everything nonsense. Please, please save yourself from this and please continue. So this is, Oh! Jai son (Gurudev laughs). Thus we go back to our, our verse 3.9.8. No, we were thinking of nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ. Take 2.1.2, Ah! This looks nice. Even tie it really you know. See how nice mother ties. Copy her. What is this? (Gurudev laughs) Looks like a mata you know, ( Gurudev laughs) santoshi mata we have ( Gurudev laughs) Please, ( Gurudev laughs). Radhika, you have to keep tying okay. Nice, tight. Umm! Gurudev chants the verse and recites the translation again and devotees repeat:

śrotavyādīni rājendra nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ
apaśyatām ātma-tattvaṁ gṛheṣu gṛha-medhinām

Those persons who are materially engrossed, being blind to the knowledge of ultimate truth, have many subject matters for hearing in human society, O Emperor.

(Gurudev asks the devotees to recites the translation.) 

Gurudev: God! Such a powerful boy. You should study man, Aye! Promise me you will study meanings also, translation is must. Okay. 12th chapter of Bhagavad Gita with translation and this, this sloka also. Don't forget the translation. As soon as you remember this, then we control our, you know, we control our nonsensical. To the limited extent only we have to use this material things. Rest of the attention should be to the, Ah! It is very late in our life. You people are very young. You can just master the whole thing. Please and these are the youngest ones. Hand over these things to them, they will do very nice. In Minneapolis I caught hold of three young people and they are hiring nice flat, nice (not clear) boys are coming. This is the way we should learn to hand over to the younger ones and make them ready you know. Soon they will be young persons you know.

And we have our waning life will be very pleasing. Young persons are our guidelines. What is the use of money and everything if these boys are lost? So please don't force them to lose. Give them some engagement. This temple also, this all this kadapa they call it in Gujarati, kadapas (Gurudev and devotees laughs) Kadapas means we are all. (Gurudev laughs). What, they can't walk, they can't run, they can't do anything. Such a big body they (not clear) what can he do? (Devotees laugh). They see us that he can't do anything, and president. Make some young girls and young boys president who can run around. And if you hand over the temple to these people, they will invite the young people. And they will be attracted to this. These boys are doing. We should do it. Our two boys are doing and everywhere the children are attracted. Mangala arati we started in Radha Jivan’s house; they are now addicted to mangala arati. Daily 6'o clock they are doing mangala arati and children do everything. Because these children, they saw. So, this is how please, please. These, these children (Referring to devotee kids from Newzealand) are product of mangala arati. Since last eleven years their father is forcing them to get up for mangala arati. They know everything now. And now they are so very strong they may not budge here and there. Please you understand these things. Otherwise, young age is lost. And they will be mad, they will be misguided, everything will be there. Please if they are with Kṛṣṇa, the guidance will be alright. Otherwise, we are waiting for a head on crash. (Gurudev laughs). Don't do it. Give them this addiction you know. So, this is the meaning. And then we go back to our verse which we have to do. Ah! 3.9.8, 3.9.8. Jai!!! I think this is brahma samhita. Son, take out the verse son. This whole prayer is brahma samhita lyric. This Brahma, one thing we should remember you all young, you are fathers you must remember, father and mother. In Bhagavatam every canto ninth chapter is very important, (Gurudev laughs) 1.9, 2.9, 3.9 ( Gurudev laughs), 4.9

Devotee: Really Maharaj wow.

Gurudev: Really, 9th canto should be done, 9th chapter I mean, every canto. No doubt everything is important but this the attraction. You don't have time at least read 9 you know. At least do one or two slokas.

Devotee: It's very nice Maharaj.

Gurudev: In the 1st canto, 2nd chapter, you should master because that is the way to go to Kṛṣṇa. So it is very important. 1.2.1-34 verses, should be learnt  very nicely. These boys they have learnt translation you know. So please. There are so many things to be learnt, but minimise it. Don't burden them. Whatever they have done. (not clear). You should learn they will pick up then. Jai!!! We, we just are expert in ordering. You do it, you do it (Gurudev laughs) and then you don't do it (Gurudev laughs). They see you running around here and there like a monkey. (Gurudev laughs) Gets up in the morning, puts on trouser and off. (Gurudev laughs) ya! Come on. So read son.

Gurudev chants beautifully and devotees repeat : oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya

Gurudev: Come on! Hanuman.

Hanuman prabhu chants and Gurudev and devotees repeat: oṁ namo bhagavate vāsudevāya  

Gurudev chants the verse(ŚB 3.9.8) and devotees repeat:

kṣut-tṛṭ-tridhātubhir imā muhur ardyamānāḥ
śītoṣṇa-vāta-varaṣair itaretarāc ca
kāmāgninācyuta-ruṣā ca sudurbhareṇa
sampaśyato mana urukrama sīdate me

Gurudev: See these are the long lines, So read in brahma-samhita lirics. Gurudev asks devotee read, and then Gurudev chants the verse and devotees repeat.

cintāmaṇi-prakara-sadmasu kalpa-vṛkṣa-
lakṣāvṛteṣu surabhīr abhipālayantam
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi

Gurudev: Ah! Now go to the equivalents, you know word to word.

Devotee reads the word to word and Gurudev and devotees repeat: kṣut — hunger; tṛṭ — thirst; tri-dhātubhiḥ — three humors, namely mucus, bile and wind; imāḥ — all of them; muhuḥ — always; ardyamānāḥ — perplexed; śīta — winter; uṣṇa — summer; vāta — wind; varaṣaiḥ — by rains; itara-itarāt — and many other disturbances; ca — also; kāma-agninā — by strong sex urges; acyuta-ruṣā — indefatigable anger; ca — also; sudurbhareṇa — most unbearable; sampaśyataḥ — so observing; manaḥ — mind; urukrama — O great actor; sīdate — becomes despondent; me — my.

Gurudev: Now, give me the book. So we go by line by line you know and then you will understand it.

Gurudev: tThese are the things which trouble us. First is hunger.  Son, do you feel hunger?

Devotee: No

Gurudev: No, you don't want to eat?

Devotee: Yes. (Gurudev laughs), Aye!

Gurudev to another devotee: You are hungry isn't it?

Devotee: No

Gurudev: No (Devotees laugh)

Gurudev: Oh!  this America, nobody is hungry (Gurudev and devotees laugh). So this is the first thing to trouble us. How many trucks and trucks of rice you have consumed? (Gurudev and devotees laugh), how many chappatis? (Gurudev and devotees laugh),  how much sabji you know. Man! Barrels of dal (Gurudev and devotees laugh), and even then we are hungry.( Gurudev laughs). So this is the daily trouble you know. Then tṛṭ - thirst, daru ka, coca cola and whisky and everything goes on. The water we drink you know? Don't take fizzy drinks okay? You follow me? This, there was one news about this coca cola, fizzy drinks you know. In one college, there was a competition who drinks more tins you know. So one boy consumed nearly 20 coca cola tins and he, he fainted immediately (devotees laugh). So, since then, the principal had to ban these drinks. Please don't touch this. They are very poisonous. There is something which is very addictive in that and it kills you, you know if excessive. And we out of love, we give children money and they buy wafers and coca cola and something. Please shun from this. Otherwise your body will not grow nicely. You want to be healthy. Isn't it? So what did you learn today. Recite…

Gurudev: Ya. That's right. No, no, you know that, one saying you know early to, early to bed

Gurudev says and Devotees repeat: Ah! Come on, Early to bed and early to rise is the way to be happy, healthy, wealthy and wise. You learnt see. Repeat. Ah! Early to bed

Gurudev: You want to be happy?

Devotee: Yes

Gurudev: To be healthy?

Devotee: Yes

Gurudev: You want to be wealthy?

Devotee: Ya

Gurudev: wealthy you want (devotees laugh) our Shyam said not that much (Gurudev and devotees laugh) you do not need that much money, little you want. Very realised boy. You want to be healthy, wealthy? You want to be wealthy? You want to buy helicopter (Gurudev and devotees laugh), then wise you know, then, repeat again.

Devotee: Early to bed and early to rise is the way to be happy, healthy, wealthy and wise. [Gurudev ask devotees to repeat 2 times]

Gurudev: If you want these four things, you have to go to bed early and get up early. That is what our culture is. Don’t force to wake up after 9.00 pm and don't sleep after 4.00 am.

Devotee: laughs

Gurudev: it is sometime? (Gurudev laughs). Not daily is it? What time you wake up? 6'o clock? 8'o clock sometime? Ah! 9'o clock? You wake up at 9'o clock. You are losing your health you know. Please just try.

Gurudev reads the word to word and devotees repeat: kṣut — hunger; tṛṭ — thirst; tri-dhātubhiḥ — three humors, namely mucus, bile and wind;

Gurudev: and tri-dhātubhiḥ, this three, three, there is, what is it? Mucous, bile and cough, vatta, pitta and cough we call it. We are always suffering from this. The reason of the sickness is either we have irregular vata, irregulated air and to regulate the air simple medicine is there. You eat the black salt. It regulates the air. All your aches and pains will go away. There won't be any aches and pains provided, you just put something in mouth some little thing and it will clear immediately

Devotee: kaala namak

Gurudev: kaala namak, Ah! (Gurudev speaks in Gujarati). That is the best medicine for this vata. And all the aches and pains is because of vata. Even heart attack is because of vata. It is the air, irregulated air entering into the heart and creates the pain and they then cut the nerves and join the nerves. It's a silly thing to do that. Never, I will tell you really, may Kṛṣṇa give you sufficient money so that anytime you are sick, you should never get treatment here. You should go to India. Take bath in Ganges, Kanpur, nice, our, There was a boy from Kanpur in Los Angeles. His name was Dilip Mehra.

Devotee: Oh! I know

Gurudev: You know him. And he was doing that ready made cloth business. So he had a small daughter. He was always asking me that Maharaj I am worried about this daughter. If I stay here don't know really what is going to happen. So I told him that, "Dilip you have earned may be since nine years", he was doing the business and he was very hard working you know. So whenever I went there, definitely he will bring prasada, car, everything he will do. (Not clear). So I told "Dilip, you forget about America (Gurudev laughs) and you please come to India. You know how much you have earned. Be satisfied now". So immediately, after 2 years, he wind up the whole thing and he is now in Bombay. He has got a flat there in Andheri and that girl is going to the gurukul there. And very nicely situated. She performs some kirtan and everything. Very, very good culture. In India whatever it is, there are so many difficulties. But even then, it is good. Because they are situated, that part of the globe is so very suitable for our existence. These, in all these countries they have so much money and everything, but here somehow or other we don't get adjusted. You go to India, you don't have anything, even then we feel alright you know.

He (Gurudev saying another devotee) stays in one of the village. It is the best thing, I will curse you, he is mad to be here you know (Gurudev laughs), really mad people. (Gurudev laughs). Now you have earned may be just wind away and forget. (Gurudev laughs). Children may manage you know. Stay, they will soon grow up. So please somehow or other, we have to keep an eye.  And if you are sick, then you immediately run to the village. Drink nice cow's milk and have a peaceful life and enjoy your earning. Otherwise for the whole of your lifetime you will be collecting money, but somebody else will be enjoying (Gurudev and devotees laugh). So I told Dilip, now I am telling him that you are luckiest person. You have earned your money and you are enjoying your money. Otherwise somebody else will enjoy your money. What's the use of that? So please, this is tri-dhātu, vata, pitta and cough. You know cough also increases always. And this salt helps to cough also. Immediately the cough subsides. Within a minute the cough subsides if you take kala namak. These are the best medicine for cold. Whenever you are suffering from acute cold, these people don't have any medicine. This namak is the best medicine. And if they know, they may culture namak and add synthetic to it and make tablets or something. Please don't go in for that. Our spices are the best. That is our medical box. And these three things again and again, and muhur ardyamānāḥ, muhu means again and again, repeat.

Gurudev reads the word to word and devotees repeat: kṣut — hunger; tṛṭ — thirst; tri-dhātubhiḥ — three humors, namely mucus, bile and wind; imāḥ — all of them; muhuḥ — again and again, this hunger, thirst, these, all these things again and again always they trouble. Always they trouble. This is our bodily existence;  Then go ahead, ardyamānāḥ - and because of that we are perplexed, the body never works alright. Śīta - then apart from this winter, uṣṇa — summer; vāta — wind; varaṣaiḥ — by rains; itara-itarāt — and many other disturbances; ca — also; kāma-agninā — by strong sex urges; acyuta-ruṣā — indefatigable anger; this is acyuta-ruṣā, very nice, indefatigable anger; ca — also; sudurbhareṇa — most unbearable; sampaśyataḥ — so observing; everybody observes this; manaḥ — mind; urukrama — O great actor; sīdate — becomes despondent; me — my.

Gurudev: my mind never becomes despondent. Even then we go again and again for the same thing. Please, that is the meaning. How many, how many things trouble, see count them, kṣut, tṛṭ, tri-dhātu, three, then śīta, uṣṇa, five, vāta, six, varaṣaiḥ, seven and so many other disturbances. So innumerable disturbances are there. Then innumerable desires are there. I must have this, I must have that you know. So many desires. All this trouble you. And even then my mind doesn't become despondent. Mind really becomes fed up. Again and again and again and again we think that America is the best, dollars are nice, my bank balance is intact. And to your surprise the bank crashes and next day you don't have anything. At least former days there were no banks. So they had gold. Money you know and the money was also gold or silver. So they were keeping all the riches with them. At the moment the riches is only in figure. We can see the figure, ya, ya. And that figure is with somebody else. What guarantee is there, "Why should we take care of your money". They will just finish you off within a second. In India also it is happening now. Banks are just going bankrupt. Once we had that, what is that?  Credit and commerce, BCCI, something, originated in Pakistan. And they were offering bit more interest. So all, everybody deposited it there. And one day they said, 'haribol!' ( Gurudev and devotees laugh) And even now it is eleven years since it is broken, even now the people are fighting to get something back. Please, this is our condition.

Money also, yes, we have to keep something here and there but remember that just keeping in the bank also money reduces. Suppose we have deposited ten lakhs of rupees today after five years the inflation increases. So they may look 10 lakhs after five years but they are not. Their buying capacity is reduced. So slowly it finishes. Money vanishes slowly. It is better that you utilise it for Kṛṣṇa. We nourish ourselves nicely. And then whatever left between here and there, we have to because we have to worry about the marriages and so many things. So some amount has got to be there. But too much of it we should not run and our mind must get despondent because of facing all these difficulties. Otherwise we are wasting our time. Now go to the translation. Please repeat. Repeat. Read, Ah! Read, read

Devotee reads the translation and Gurudev and devotees repeat: [3 times] O great actor, my Lord, all these poor creatures are constantly perplexed by hunger, thirst, severe cold, secretion and bile, attacked by coughing winter, blasting summer, rains and many other disturbing elements, and overwhelmed by strong sex urges and indefatigable anger. I take pity on them, and I am very much aggrieved for them.

Gurudev: read, son,  read the purport. Take out the purport, Read.

Devotee reads the purport: A pure devotee of the Lord like Brahmā and persons in his disciplic succession are always unhappy to see the perplexities of the conditioned souls, who are suffering the onslaughts of the threefold miseries which pertain to the body and mind, to the disturbances of material nature, and to many other such material disadvantages. Not knowing adequate measures for relieving such difficulties, suffering persons sometimes pose themselves as leaders of the people, and the unfortunate followers are put into further disadvantages under such so-called leadership. This is like a blind man’s leading another blind man to fall into a ditch. Therefore, unless the devotees of the Lord take pity on them and teach them the right path, their lives are hopeless failures. The devotees of the Lord who voluntarily take the responsibility of raising the foolish materialistic sense enjoyers are as confidential to the Lord as Lord Brahmā.

Gurudev: Jai! Finished.

Devotee: Ya

Gurudev: very nice. What did you understand? You read alright. Kya samja kya tum? Kuch nehi. Something? something? Something? What did you understand? Come on? You are just dumb and deaf. He has read like a parrot. (Gurudev laughs). Parrot also repeats. Doesn't mind. Oh! Oh! Oh!

Gurudev: People don't like.

Devotee: Umm!

Gurudev: Umm [Gurudev and devotees laugh]

Gurudev: American mind, doesn't go in anytime. Man! You should understand what you are reading. (Gurudev laughs). Son, go to the first sentence. Ya! Ya! First sentence. Jai!! Read the first sentence.

Devotee: A pure devotee of the Lord like Brahmā and persons in his disciplic succession are always unhappy to see the perplexities of the conditioned souls.

Gurudev: Conditioned souls. What is the meaning of conditioned soul?

Devotee: not material like souls

Gurudev: Condition, there must be condition isn't it? We are here you know with the body therefore we are conditioned. What is our condition? That we have to take birth. There is no other way we can obtain the body. It's a condition. Isn't it? That's why we are conditioned. And those who are born they have to go away. That is the condition. We don't want, we don't want to go, but we are forced to quit. Till the last moment, we try ourselves to survive. In coma somebody goes and again comes back and just comes. "Oh! I am so happy to come back." And then we had read once the first operation was carried on the heart you know in South Africa. And John came back in his senses and he asked for the cigarette. (Gurudev and Devotees laugh). That was a big heading in the newspaper. John came back and he asked for a cigarette. And as if cigarette is the achieved, goal of existence. This is conditioned. They don't  know what it is, already we are naturally conditioned. Naturally conditioned means you have to take birth, you have to die, you have become old, you have to become sick many times. That is natural conditions. And then again in these natural conditioning we create our own conditioning. What is our condition? That I will only put trouser, I won't put any other clothes. Hey! Hey! Syam, you understand. Your conditioning, "I will only wear trousers. I will not wear anything else."

Devotee: That's correct

Gurudev: That's correct, isn't it? Yes. Otherwise you can put on dhoti. "No, I will put on only trouser." And our conditioning is, "I will only go to America." It is again conditioning. Then, "I will only get up late in the morning," it is again condition. "I will sleep late at night." That is conditioning. "I will run like a monkey to earn money," that is again conditioning from one motel to the other motel, other motel to the other motel. Monkey jumps you know from one tree to another tree (Gurudev laughs). There is no difference. He has the trees and we have motels. (Gurudev and devotees laugh) One man we saw in Minneopolis he had seven motels. Arey! He is mad you know. This morning he goes here and goes there. Some problem there, then some problem there. They ring and he has two mobile phones and Ah! Babb ah...,( Gurudev and devotee laughs) Man, mad man , monkey, we are just exactly monkey (Gurudev and devotees laugh). And monkey doesn't have mobile. (Gurudev and devotees laugh) I mean, I don't really curse these people. That is the way to manage. And we can have our own time also. We may have to lose something. These people, these local people they manage big, big department stores. They are at ease you know. Computer is there, everything is in the computer. Some nice, something occurs and managers go and sort out. They have their own machinery you know. He is not disturbed. That is how it should be done.

Very nice management. I mean to say they have to lose something. These whole department stores they buy the things very cheap and they always assure 20% of the profit for theft. So they know that thieving is going on.. So 20% we take out. And whatever aggregate profit is there, they are happy. This is how they manage you know. So they are not disturbed. But our people particularly, they are so very attached to this. (Gurudev laughs). Ya! Very true, please don't get disturbed. You will earn anyway. Earning money is from the previous life. Whatever good activities we have done, that's why we are in this good country. And after coming here also, we are, we are able to establish. That's our previous activities. Now if you don't increase the activities, then I don't know what type of life you have in future. This we must remember. And to have impetus for these things, these all these troubles are given in here. That without fail we have conditioning by hunger. Again we have conditioning by thirst. Again we are conditioning by breathing. All these are the conditioning of the body. Then again three humours vat, pitta and kapha is always running after us. Then cold, heat. You go to Minneapolis you cannot sit like this. You have to wear overcoat and this and that. Now in North America. And if you cross over North America, go to Canada, you die really there. And even then, our people are there in, there in Alaska also. (Gurudev laughs). Indians can go anywhere. Doesn't matter. Wherevere there is pound or dollars, I' ll go you know. What is it? They say that where nobody goes, the Marwadi goes there. (Gurudev and devotees laugh) There is a nice saying, "Marwardi goes anywhere." (Gurudev and devotees laugh). In, in, originally they are in the desert. So they don't mind any, any condition. It's much better than the desert you know. We are also Raja, we are also Marwadis. He will go to Alaska and (not clear) or whatever. In the northernmost part of the Canada where the igloos are there, they will stay there also. (Gurudev laughs). Please this is conditioning, additional conditioning. And for these conditioned souls, there must be young persons trained now to take care of these conditioned souls. And these young persons should be coming out of these things. Unless they come out they will be mad to follow these things. And if they won't come round then like us their life will be completely wasted. So now it is our duty to train these young persons. And how to train our young persons? Unless you follow they will not follow.

These, father of these people is a very good devotee. He follows very strictly. And he has trained them also to follow strictly. You boys are there, here and there they will commit mistake but they have to be corrected by your own following. And if their minds are completely engaged in these things then the other things will not enter.What happened that Surdas, we know Surdas in India, blind bhakta. He was a nice Vaishnava. His, his bhajans are very nice. So he was very famous you know as a bhakta you know, bhakta poet. So Akbar Badshah was there. So Akbar invited him to his court. He said that, " I have heard that you are a very nice devotee, please sing some bhajans you know". So Surdas sang so many bhajans you know. And Akbar Badshah was very pleased you know. Then he said, "Now you sing my glories". (Gurudev laughs). Surdas sang very nice bhajan you know na hindayo man mey tor- mera man pey khoi jaga nehi hai, kali hai Kṛṣṇa hai mere man mei,

nanda nandana achata kaisey urmey aniey aur- ur mei mera nanda nandan hai, meray ur mei kisi key liya jaga nehi. Humarey Chakravati khey liya ur mei bhahut jaga kali hai (Gurudev and devotees laugh) kya keha, sahi baat, kya sahi baat kehney nehi chalega. (Devotees laugh) Ab pachis hazar dal dethey hum chutey, tum chutey. (Gurudev and devotees laugh) itney mehnat kar reha hai aap kahey khey liya (Gurudev and devotees laugh). Please yeh humarey man yeh haisa hai. Tumhe woh bhaley Akbar ney kaha" accha, tu gata nehi hai, ( not clear)". Bhola,  "mei bhada generous hu tum mang ley there kho jho chayiye." He forced him to ask something.

(In my mind there is no place, there is only Kṛṣṇa in my mind. In my heart I only have Nandanandana. In my heart there is no place for anybody. Our Chakravati has so much space in his heart. What you are saying correct, that will not suffice. What to say? Now give me 50,000 then leave me, leave yourself also. Why are you working so hard. Please, our mind is like this. Then Akbar told him fine but, okay you will not sing my glories. See I am very generous, now you ask me anything you want. He forced him to ask.)

Tho woh kaha bhai, "mei toh simple hu, mera kho koyi avashaktha nei hai, mera paas jho hai usey mera kho shanti hai. Mera kho koyi avashaktha nehi hai, koyi jarrurath nehi hai. Nehi, unnoney bholi, merey sey koyi kali haath nehi jatha hai, tum maang. Nehi mera bhadshah maaf karey mujhe mera kho kuch nehi chayiyey. Mujhe sahi aur mil jatha hai. Mujhe kuch nehi chayiyey. Nehi nehi mangna hi chayiya padega tujhey  janey nehi dunga. Tho tu bhada insist kar raha hai tho ekh bhath dena mujhe. Tho unhoney kaha, jaldhi bol, jaldhi bol abhi dey detha ho. Tho boley dusari bhar mujhey tho yaha nehi bulana aur meray bhajan mei bangh nehi dalna". (Gurudev and devotees laugh) aur hum hothey tho char bhar ussey kahethey hamesha mai avuga theray, theray gungan gavunga. (Gurudev and devotees laugh) aur sarey society mei kaha dethey khi mujhe isney bhulay, usney bhulay hai. Please, please,please

(Then he said, "brother I am.very simple. I do not have any necessities. Whatever I have I am peaceful with it. I do not want anything, I have no necessities. No, he said, nobody goes empty hand from me, you ask. No my dear Badshah please forgive me but I really do not want anything. I get everything that I need. I do not want anything. No, no, you have to ask for something otherwise I will not let you go. Okay you are insisting me then give me one thing. Then he said, tell fast, tell fast I will give you now only. Please next time you do not call me here and bring disturbance to my bhajan. And if I was there I would have told four times that I will come, I will come and sing your glories. And I will tell the whole society that he called me.)

na hindhayo man mei tor, nanda nandana achuta kaisey aney uraur . mera kho hindh hai ur mei nanda nandan hai. Dusarey kho kaye kho lavu mei. (Why should I bring others into this) aur bhadshah kho bhol deiya nehi tho nehi tho mardetha tha usko. (And if he would not have baadshah then he would be killed) Musalman tha woh bhi. (He was a Muslim also) pur dekiya tho kitna himath wala tha woh kyo khi bhagavan mei man lagaya hai. (But see how fearless he is because his mind is always on Bhagavan) Bhagavan mei man ho tho please abhi humarey kho dey diya bhagavan ney sabhi. (Even if we give our mind to the Lord, Lord has given us everything).

He has established you in America. thoda bhahuth paisa bhi aagaya hai. (He has given you somewhat enough money). Comparing India we are very rich. Please now at least you should turn your attention into this. aur kuch bhi man mei na rakhey. (Please do not keep anything else in the mind) Kachada hoga tho you will be sick. (If you have dirty things you will be sick) Yeh sickness kha koyi aur karan nehi hai (There is no other reason for this sickness). Isi disease kho mei kal he samjaya tha. ( About this disease we have spoken about yesterday). Ease nehi hai isliye disease hai (we are not at ease and therefore we are diseased) Nehi tho disease ki koyi jarurath nehi hai (Otherwise there is no other reason for this disease). Tho disease nekalney khey liya we must go back to ease (To remove disease we have to go back to ease). Aur inhe bhatho mei ease hai (And only these things will give us ease). Dusarey khoyi bhatho mei, nehi tho yeh, yeh sab bhuth khey taraf pichey lagi hai (There is no other reason. Otherwise these things are all following us like ghosts). Hunger, thirst, tri-dhātu, śīta,uṣṇa etc, etc. Yeh please yadh rakhiye aur insey kaisey vaisey pana chudaye, (not clear) thoda bhahuth karley aur man bhagavan mei rahey (Please keep this in mind and somehow or the other get out of it, please do something here and there and keep your mind on God)  Jai!!! Haribol!!!
